PHAI provides project update for County Council

Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI) General Manger Craig Hebert provided a project update to Northumberland County Council on August 26. He highlighted the work planned for this fall for the Port Hope Project, which includes radiological scans at over 800 Port Hope properties and 175 road allowances and site preparation at the future Port Hope Project long-term waste management facility. In the Port Granby area of Southeast Clarington, the contractor will begin to mobilize on site for the construction of the PHAI’s Port Granby Project long-term engineered aboveground storage mound and remediation of the historic low-level radioactive waste.

Hebert emphasized the PHAI’s commitment to safety and to working collaboratively with municipal, regional and community partners. He also told County Council that PHAI procurement office staff is available every Thursday afternoon to assist local businesses learn how to do business with the PHAI. 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
