Road allowance investigations on Cavan Street

Cavan road workThrough the Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI), Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) is responsible for the safe cleanup of historic
low-level radioactive wast
e located in Port Hope.

In preparation for upcoming work under the PHAI and to ensure public safety during road allowance investigations, please note that:

  • Starting mid-October, Golder Associates will be conducting borehole drilling that requires the use of a hydro vacuum truck.
  • The work will take place in municipal road allowances adjacent to, but not on, private driveways.
  • No road closures are anticipated, but there will be periodic lane closures.
  • The work is expected to take approximately 4 weeks to complete.
