Work at residential sites

CNL’s contractor is now undertaking construction work at residential properties in Port Hope where historic low-level radioactive waste has been identified.

During this work – which will be ongoing until winter weather arrives –
you may see and/or hear:

  • Installation of construction fencing around the properties and placement of a construction trailer in the vicinity
  • Site preparations including tree clearing/chipping and removal of patio stones, interlocking brick and other hardscape material
  • Removal and/or demolition of sheds, decks, outbuildings and fencing
  • Excavation of soil from yards and backfilling with clean soil

No road closures are expected; however, there may be temporary lane closures in the construction area.

Dust monitoring and noise monitoring will take place during the work.
