Argentinian delegation visits the PHAI MO

On Friday, June 27, as part of a visit to Canada, a delegation from Argentina met with Port Hope Area Initiative Management Office (PHAI MO) staff to learn about the Port Hope and Port Granby projects and the PHAI MO’s extensive public communications program. The visitors represented DIOXITEK conversion facility and Comisión Nacional de Energía Atómica (CNEA).

PHAI Stakeholder Relations and Communications staff highlighted a variety of the ways the PHAI engages with the Port Hope and Clarington communities including newsletters, citizen liaison groups and public attitude surveys. The visitors met with staff in the Project Information Exchange where they were able to see the extensive public information that is available – everything from health studies to environmental protection plans and licensing documents.

Before connecting with other organizations and officials in Port Hope, the Argentinian delegation participated in a brief tour of the Port Hope harbour/waterfront with PHAI MO staff to illustrate the complexity of the Port Hope Project.
