As environmental stewards committed to building a more sustainable future, it was a natural fit for CNL to participate in the inaugural Sustainability Expo, hosted by the Port Hope Environmental Advisory Committee. Staff eagerly shared insights on the company’s corporate sustainability initiatives and how it impacts activities on the Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI) projects. Through an informative display attendees learned more about CNL’s ongoing commitment to minimizing environmental impact, supporting clean energy technologies, and promoting responsible waste management practices.
The community-focused event provided an engaging platform for organizations to share their work in environmental stewardship and sustainability with residents. The Expo featured a range of environmentally themed activities, including guest speakers, a music café, and an electric vehicle car show.
CNL remains dedicated to community engagement about our environmental responsibility. It was therefore also an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with Port Hope residents about how our work contributes to both local and national sustainability objectives. Examples of local initiatives include the annual staff litter collection on municipal roads and properties for Earth Day and the addition of hybrid vehicles to the fleet.
Thanks to the Port Hope Environmental Advisory Committee for organizing this valuable event and for creating a space where community members and organizations could come together to inspire and educate one another on the importance of sustainability.
