Schedule
Phase Two of the Port Granby Project was completed in 2021 with the cap and close of the aboveground storage mound. Demobilization was completed in December 2022 when the project moved into Phase 3 – long-term monitoring.
Budget
In 2012, the Government of Canada committed funding of $1.28 billion for the Port Hope Area Initiative. In 2022, that commitment was increased to $2.6B to carry the project through to completion, including long-term monitoring.
