Giving Back to the Community

Staff members at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) and our contractor partners are proud to live and work in the beautiful communities of Port Hope, Port Granby, and the surrounding areas. It is therefore no surprise that the teams demonstrate that pride by volunteering or donating to the organizations and residents in our communities.

In December 2023, prior to the holiday break, CNL staff and contractors did an excellent job collecting donations for the Northumberland Fare Share Foodbank. Well over 700 pounds of food was donated by staff members from ECC, York1, RadSafe and CNL all currently working at the PHAI site at Highland Drive Landfill.

Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank assists those in the County facing food insecurity. Financial stress has resulted in a steep increase in food bank usage over the last two years and the CNL donation helped a lot of local families over the holiday season.
