Giving back to those in need

What better way to celebrate a successful year than helping those most in need. Borne out of the desire to help the communities in which CNL staff live and work, employees were invited to improve the quality of life in neighbouring communities through a crowdfunding initiative.

CNL was pleased to make a donation to the Northumberland Humane Society for $9,000 with enthusiastic support from CNL’s Port Hope and Port Granby employees who selected this local organization.  “We wanted to recognize the hard work the humane society and their volunteers do for the animals in our community and we are proud to make this donation” said CNL’s Port Hope General Manager Mark Hughey.

Funds for the program were provided by Canadian National Energy Alliance (CNEA), CNL’s parent company.  Every employee across CNL had the opportunity to help guide the process by choosing where to invest the funds and selecting an initiative they were passionate about.

This donation is one in a series of community activities that CNL staff participate in, relying on their strong sense of community which in turn helps build engagement and pride within the workforce.
