Most of the historic waste in Port Hope has already been safely placed in the Port Hope Long-Term Waste Management Facility. Nearly all PHAI major sites are now complete, with only the Highland Drive Landfill, Highland South Ravine, and Harbour Centre Pier remaining. Work on the major sites is expected to wrap up in 2026/2027 and the cleanup of private properties is expected to continue until 2031.
