NOTICE OF UPCOMING WORK – Road allowances

As part of the Port Hope Area Initiative, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories is undertaking work on road allowances in the Municipality of Port Hope (see map).

Some of the work completed may come in close proximity to private property lines.

You may see the following:

  • Utility locating
  • Borehole marking and sampling
  • Traffic control enclosures
  • Radiation detection and survey equipment used

The work is expected to be performed between January to September 2024.

No road closures are expected, however there may be temporary lane closures in the area.


Canadian Nuclear Laboratories is committed to the safety of the public, its workers and the environment while undertaking this community-requested solution to a longstanding environmental issue.
