Notice – Small-Volume Remediation

In 2019, CNL contractors will be working at various locations in Port Hope using hydro-excavation equipment as part of the Port Hope Area Initiative.

Properties that have small, shallow pockets of isolated low-level radioactive waste will be remediated by hydro-excavation, using pressurized water to excavate soil. The historic waste will be transported to the Long-Term Waste Management Facility using designated transportation routes to minimize disturbance to the community.

There are no planned road closures related to this work. For more information, contact Canadian Nuclear Laboratories at 905-885-0291, visit phai.ca or drop in to our office, 115 Toronto Rd, Port Hope.
