PUBLIC STATEMENT – Vehicle Collision

Port Hope, June 14, 2022 – Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) has been made aware of a traffic accident in Port Hope, involving a truck being used by a contractor to provide clean fill to the Port Hope Area Initiative cleanup project.

Initial reports are that the dump truck was involved in a collision with a vehicle on Dale Road at approximately 2 p.m. on June 14, 2022, and that the occupants of both vehicles were transported to hospital.

CNL notified the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission of this event.

CNL remains committed to the safety of the public, its workers and the environment during its activities, and is conducting an internal review of the incident.
