Employees at the CNL Port Hope office rallied together in an inspiring show of generosity to raise an impressive sum for the Northumberland United Way this year. This regional charity dedicated to helping individuals and families in need celebrates 55 years of caring. The staff fundraising campaign ran from October 28 until November 8 and exceeded its $15,555 goal, bringing in $23,387.75!
“This will be a vital contribution to the United Way’s ongoing efforts to tackle poverty, provide educational support, and offer critical services and supports to people facing hardship in our communities,” said Liza Oliphant, campaign co-chair. “Our staff live and work in these communities and we want to help it thrive.”
This year’s campaign featured a variety of events, including a company-wide raffle, bake sale, and a 50/50 draw. Employees also significantly increased their participation and donations through the payroll deduction campaign. A friendly competition between departments contributed to the financial success and brought the employees together with a shared purpose of giving back to the community while outmatching their colleagues.
“It’s incredible to see the compassion and teamwork displayed my co-workers,” added Leisa Lafrance, campaign co-chair. “The generosity shown by everyone, from volunteers to donors, will make a difference in the lives of thousands of people.”
CNL plans to continue its partnership with the United Way in the future, with ideas for next year’s campaign already being discussed. “We’re proud to support an organization that also advocates for solutions to meet the greatest needs in our community.” added Chantal Driscoll, campaign co-chair. “We hope to make an even bigger impact next year.”
