CLG Members Talk Business Opportunities with the PHAI

With construction work and other project-related activities increasing significantly this fall, the PHAI’s Citizen Liaison Groups (CLGs) expressed an interest in learning how local businesses can work with the PHAI.

At the groups’ last meetings, PHAI Management Office procurement manager Ginette du Manoir provided the Port Hope Project CLG and Port Granby Project CLG with a presentation on the PHAI’s contracting process. CLG members learned about the various types of PHAI procurements, such as Request for Expression of Interest and Request for Quotation, resources for business owners interested in contract opportunities and how the PHAI’s strong focus on and commitment to safety is reflected in all contracts.

“The Government of Canada’s $1.28 billion commitment to the Port Hope and Port Granby projects is bringing real opportunities for local businesses,” du Manoir told CLG members. “We want to help business owners in Port Hope and Clarington understand what the PHAI needs and how they can work with us.”

CLG members were enthusiastic about the presentation and encouraged PHAI Management Office staff to raise awareness of the PHAI’s contracting needs and the processes. For further information about how to do business with the PHAI, click here.
