Building on PHAI Success in 2024

My work on the Port Hope Area Initiative and the Historic Waste Programs so far has been particularly rewarding for a couple reasons.

First, the work itself is setting the benchmark for others within the industry to follow. As one of the largest environmental projects in Canada, we are making inroads in the management of low-level radioactive waste.  This makes our mission of being environmental stewards much more than just words on a page. We are truly impacting lives and creating a blank slate for future development and growth that others are keeping an eye on.

Second, the people I work with – highly skilled professionals in their field of expertise – have not only welcomed me but continue to support the project in with a vision of excellence.

I firmly believe that our greatest asset lies in skilled and knowledgeable people who are working hard to advance the PHAI while ensuring the highest safety and environmental standards. Each team from our contract partners to the Municipality of Port Hope and Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) and our staff bring unique talents, perspectives, and experiences to the table.  It is through harnessing the collective power of our team that we will successfully complete this project.

I am committed to focusing on collaboration, safety, and progress. CNL has a history of delivering top-quality environmental remediation, and I am fully dedicated to upholding and surpassing that standard.

I encourage continued open communication and transparency at all levels.

Your experiences and feedback are valuable in helping us identify areas for improvement. Together, we will tackle challenges head-on, improve our processes, celebrate successes, and work tirelessly to complete the PHAI while contributing to the community.

Thank you for your continued patience and support, as we deliver this project safely on schedule.
