Icy determination required for winter drilling

Through rain, sleet and snow, members of the ARCADIS field staff get the job done in spite of steep ravines, densely treed lots and deep snow, as they conduct radiological investigations in Port Hope. The toboggan does double duty – to haul equipment into hard-to-reach areas and to use as a table top for testing soil samples.

More than 800 properties are being tested as part of Campaign 2 of the Port Hope Project Property Radiological Survey. The ARCADIS crew completed most of the exterior gamma radiological testing before the heavy snow arrived, and now borehole drilling/soil sampling and interior gamma radiological surveys are underway.

All of the Campaign 2 investigations are expected to be completed by fall 2016.
