At approximately 1:00 p.m. on February 17, a PHAI truck travelling in Port Hope to the Viaducts site snagged an overhead telephone cable and pulled it down. Emergency responders arrived and verified that the cable was not an electrical feed cable.
There were no injuries resulting from this event. The telephone line repair was completed by the utility company.
CNL investigated the event and determined corrective actions to prevent a recurrence, with a focus on driver safety and awareness.
CNL notified the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission of the incident.
