Port Hope

During PHAI work at the Port Hope Harbour Centre Pier on 2025 April 21, airborne dust was visible for a brief period when dry cement was being placed in a storage silo for use as a solidification agent. Staff took immediate action to stop the activities causing the release. Operations were suspended for the rest of the day due to high winds.

CNL notified the appropriate regulatory agencies, including the Ontario Spills Action Centre and the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, as well as the Municipality of Port Hope.

There was little risk to the safety of workers, the public or the environment resulting from this event.
