Port Hope

During routine refuelling of a small boat used at the Port Hope Harbour site on April 17, 2026, about 5 millilitres of gasoline dripped into the water.

Residual gasoline from the spout of the can temporarily placed on the dock, dripped onto the dock surface and into the harbour water. The total volume of gasoline was approximately 20 millilitres, of which about 5 millilitres entered the water.

The spill was immediately addressed by site personnel and cleaned up from both the dock and the water. No residual material was observed following cleanup activities.

CNL notified the Ontario Spills Action Centre and the Municipality of Port Hope.

At no time was there a risk to the safety of workers, the public, or the environment.
